Golf Cart Safety is an essential part of the golfing experience. We want you to have fun and enjoy your round without injury.
Movies, social media, and memes treat golf carts as toys designed for crazy driving and wild stunts. Please remember that golf carts have the potential to seriously injure (or kill!) people and can cause extreme property damage.
Here are some important golf cart safety tips to remember:
- Never take a cart unless you have been given a key from the Proshop. Carts are only for golfers while on the property. Outside visitors or guests may not use any golf carts without express permission from management.
- Note any damages to the cart before your round. Bring them to the proshop’s attention before heading out so you aren’t held responsible for it.
- Secure your golf bag onto the back of the cart. Test to make sure it is properly secured before driving away
- Follow the cart rules, stay 30 feet away from all greens, and respect the ropes or barriers that block carts from accessing specific areas of the course.
- Never stand on the back or sides of the cart or ride on the roof.
- No extra passengers. Only allow one person per available seat.
- Be aware of your surroundings – including golfers who are hitting their balls.
- Treat the golf cart the same as you would a car. Never treat it like a toy. Drive responsibly.
- When getting off the cart, wait for it to come to a complete stop first. Make sure to use your brake when parking to avoid rolling. Always park somewhere safe.
- During your round, if you notice any maintenance issues – report them to the Proshop.
- If you have an accident during your gameplay, please report it to the Proshop.
While accidents can happen, remember that you can be held liable for damages done to carts during your round if we deem it a result of reckless driving.
Golf carts are costly to buy, maintain, and repair. Replacement parts for repairs can take upwards of two months to arrive which removes the cart from use for long periods when they are needed for the golf season.
Always treat vehicles with the respect they deserve.
We never want to see anyone hurt due to the mistreatment of a golf cart.
Thanks for following these golf cart safety tips and helping us keep you safe at Foxbridge Golf Club so that you can enjoy your golf game.
